We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. Salmon eggs

In the nest there is orange pea-sized eggs. The Mother will cover the eggs with gravel this allows water to flow around the eggs and keep them healthy. If you walk in a shallow river you could step on the eggs without knowing. To survive they need cool clean water.
