Hi Brynn! In the beginning of the story, the relationship of Will Halloway and Charles Halloway was primitive. In chapter two, for example, they did have a conversation, but in no way was it deep or meaningful. In the end of the story, however, it had grown to be a lot more than that. Not only did they have an ideal father-son relationship, but they were friends too. For example, Will shouted, "I love you!" to his father in chapter 49 when he feared his father had been hurt or killed. Their relationship truly had grown and prospered!

Will and Mr. Halloway's realtionship changed when they had that big talk. In the beginning of the story Will didnt really talk to his dad, but when his dad caught him sneaking back in the house coming back from the carnival they had the big talk, ever since then his dad has been there for him.

Towards the end of the book their relationship got better. For Example Will asked his dad if he was a good person, and the carnival changed them when they were on the carousel Will yelled to his dad I don't care how old you are. I still love you.
