The Invention Of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick is about a boy named Hugo Cabret in Paris, France and in the year of 1931. After his Dad dies and his uncle mysteriously left him, he lives on his own. He works on an automaton (mechanical man) that his Dad found. He knows that the mechanical man can do drawings or messages, and I remember when I was in a museum and saw one of them which did messages with a few pictures. The illustrator drew it as a little man with a desk, which looked like the one I saw. It was really cool to read about something I saw!
