A Letter to the Ministry of Education
This week my students were unhappy when some videos we were trying to watch kept pausing to reload during our viewing. This is the letter they wrote to the Ministry of Education to ask for increased bandwidth. We hope we get an answer!
What an awesome idea! Getting the students involved not only gives them a sense of ownership but also lets them know that things don't magically fix themselves. Hopefully students in this classroom will have more respect for their own property, as well as that of others. There are too many students that seem to think they're entitled to receive replacement equipment after they damage something.

Thank you so much for asking the Ministry of Education to help us all out. I think your letter will be powerful and make our government think about what kids need to learn. I sure hope other classes see what you have written and send their own letters!

What a great beginning to community activism. This is something we talk about all the time in my teaching cert program, and it's wonderful to see an example of how to get students to think about their role as citizens, and all of the ways they can create change. Thank you for sharing this!
