The Keeping Room
So far the Keeping Room has been really good. At the very beggining the father was sent off to war and Joey (oldest son) took over the household. The kids were taught school at home. Euven was his teacher. The next thing that happened was that Joey was in the town and saw the British people on their horses at the top of the hill. Joey ran home to warn everybody and Joey and his mother wrote notes to their father but he never answered. They asked him things like are you injured and are you okay. Then the British came and took over their house and took food. The whole family was locked in one tiny room. That's when one of the soilders told Joey that father was in jail. The mother asked if she could go see him but the soilder said no women aloud to visit injail. So she sent Joey. Joey didn't recognize his father. He looked much older. Joey gave him a note that his mother gave to him. Next thing Joey knows is that his father is being moved to a jail in Bermuda. The next night a fire starts by Joey with a candle and a blanket. Joey took all the credit for it an got locked up in chains for three days. His family moves to Burndale. The book is finished and his mother brothers and sisters are home. His father did not come home.

Very interesting! The soldiers were mean! How could they do such a thing like that?
