The Biggest Candy Store Ever The Biggest Candy Store Ever!
An Assisted Personal Narrative Written by Hani © October 2011
I
thought I was in heaven! I mean every kid dreams of being where I was just then. The colors, the decorations and best of all… THE CANDY! I was in the biggest candy store in the world! There were guns with gumballs as bullets, and a Hersheys chocolate bar a meter long! I also saw lolly-pops the size of basketballs with gum inside! It was the best day in December vacation! (The next week we were leaving Dubai and moving to Beirut.) I walked all around and I found an ice cream bar in the shop! I took my time and looked at everything in the store. I got a trolley and threw in everything that looked good. There was enough candy to last me 6 whole life times! Everything was just amazing! I treasured every second of being there!
My mother, my sister and I, all split up and went to different sections of the store. Whatever I wanted I could get! Whenever I would put the candy in my trolley, it felt like I was holding bars of gold. I ran into my sister at the chocolate section. (She was going crazy!) I would have stayed and talked to her but it would have been too dangerous
I walked around for a while, and my mum and sister were nowhere to be found. It was scary! Oh, and yes, the shop WAS big enough for an eight year old child to get lost in!!!
I was terrified, I felt like I was stranded on an island all alone. I looked around almost crying, and then I ran away in search for my mum or my sister. A few seconds later I ran back to take my trolley with me. (The candy was too valuable to be left behind.) While I was running I hear little kids screaming and laughing. (“HAHAHA! HEHEHE!”) I also see kids walking around holding their mum and dad’s hands laughing together while I’m trying to FIND my mum!!!
I tried my best not to look week and terrified but it didn’t really work. (Because I was) I got to the jelly bean section and I found my mum with an employee standing next to her. She was asking the employee what every flavor was, and she would pull a lever and dump them into a bucket. (It’s what you’re supposed to do so I wasn’t embarrassed.) I ran up to her and hugged her as tight as possible. “MUM! I’m so glad I found you!” I cried. “Oh, you were lost?” she replied “YEAH!” I screamed. Hani, you know I would never leave without you! How about you go get the candy you want and I’ll meet you here in ten minutes. Okay?” She said. “Sure!” I replied. It took her a bit more than ten minutes to fill the basket with 100 different flavors of jelly beans, so I fetched my sister and we waited. (We waited impatiently but we still waited.)
