I think will wears a white hat because when Jim and Will were at the "Theatre" Will ran away and never wanted to go back. While Jim wears a black hat because he stayed and watched the people and wanted to actually go back. I'm not sure what color Mr. Halloway wears becuase he's good to his family by having a job as a janitor bit is bad because he always leaves in the middle of the night for reasons unknown. I think I would wear a white hat because I would always protect the people I love and care about.
