The best setting in the world The best "closed setting" for a mystery story would be a dark setting. The darkness makes the story very mysterious and allows the reader keep interested. For example, in the story The hound of the Baskervilles, a mysterious part that is also dark is the Baskerville hall. Without the dark setting the story wouldn`t be interesting at all.
