Mayflower
Dear Mom, 5-19-1620
I think this a dream but it’s not, its happening, I am on the Mayflower. I am going to have a big adventure.
The people are wearing hand – me – downs. They’re shoes have holes in them. The girls have hoods on their heads, so I put one on too. The boys are really boring, they make their own shoes. Their shirts are old and ripped up. The girls are the same but they have color, the boys do not.
A huge storm is coming, everyone is yelling. I went out of the room, Maya tried to stop me but there were kids out there. I have to go save the, I got two kids and two more. It is raining really hard, I hear a kid saying help me, help me. I see her, I am running with her in my arms then a huge wave was coming. I told Maya here take her. Then out of the blue the wave hit the boat, I was washed out. The wave was crazy, when Maya saw me in the water she jumped in and was yelling, "Mikailah! Where are you!" She saw me, so she was swimming really hard towards me. She grabbed my hand and pulled me up to the boat. She was happy I was alive. I went to the room and I was really wet.
Then the sun came up, everyone came up from the room. A guy said, "LAND HO!" We were so happy, everyone was crying with joy. The men threw up the hats.
Everyone is really happy, the girls were crying. Maya and I were crying with joy. We found land! The sand was so soft, the water was perfect, there is coconut trees too. One boy climbed the tree and broke a coconut with his head. We call this land Hawaii. I think we will like it here. Well, bye I hope to hear from you soon.
Love Always,
Mikailah Caamano
