Mayflower Adventure!
November 4, 1620
Dear Buwa (Grandpa),
Hi! How is it going in Plymouth, England? It has been O.K. over here on the Mayflower. There have been some tragic events over here, but I have gotten past those scary times. I will tell you what has been happening soon. By the way, how is everybody? I hope they are doing very good and not missing us a lot. I hope you haven’t either.
The Mayflower is a very nice ship. The only downside is that the food is very rotten and old. It tastes disgusting and horrid. The journey is very scary. The sea is very dark. I am terrified and horrified by it. I hope we are almost there, The New Land.
The most terrifying thing has happened! The captain is about to go into the light! (DIE!) We were all so scared! Then the next day god was on our side! A doctor on the ship had medicine that was made from healing berries! (MAGICAL BERRIES!) It was a miracle! I was so happy that I was still alive because the captain would not have been able to steer the ship! YAY!
The captain got sick because of the rotten food. I would rather drink water for the rest of my life! I am serious. It is pretty nasty. I wish we had our basements! This is not cool man!
The happiest thing in my life happened! The sailors were all like, “Land ho!” It was amazing! I was crying for happiness. Tears of Joy were pouring out of my eyes. I just invented something else! I AM SO HAPPY! This has been an alright journey, but I LOVE the ending! I hope you enjoyed hearing about it!
Well, this is your grandson all the way here in, wait. Guess what we named it? Plymouth, New England! Yes we named it after our hometown! I hope you have been enjoying this letter. I miss you so much! I wish you could’ve come on this lonely journey! Only Mom, Dad, Nisha and I are here. It gets lonely very quickly. Well, hope to hear from you soon!
