Everglades First the Everglades was created by seashells that formed a rock called lime stone. The lime stone was building up and it was making land but every time it rained the land would make a hole. One time it rained really hard and that made a really big hole on the land.
That big hole made Lake Okeechobee. Then Lake Okeechobee spilled over all the way to Florida bay. It was fifty miles wide and only six inches deep in most places. I hope to learn more about the Everglades by reading more about the ever glades.
