We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. Yellow Jacket Creek scored a 25 in the bugs we found. Chimacum Creek scored 21 we got that score because they brought some containers filled with water and we looked through the water with a spoon. Group 1 of the bugs was intolerant and it was worth 4 points. Group 2 was a little bit more tolerant and it was worth 3 points. Group 3 was really tolerant and it was worth 2 points. Group 4 was exttremely tolerant and those bugs were worth 1 point. We found a few live scuds but most of all the bugs were dead because the water in Chimacum Creek is cold and the water we had was warm because of the room tempature.
