On October 19, First Bancorp announced the date of its annual shareholders meeting. They said that it would take place on December 9^th, 2011 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The meeting will be for shareholders in the company to vote on the future of the business. They will vote for things such as the director of the company. The people attending the meeting will also be allowed to propose new rules for the company.I think that it is a good idea to have shareholders meetings because the shareholders are the ones that actually own the company, so it is good for them to share their opinions.
