We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. Enviroments
We had three unknown liquids and five unknown substances. We tested all five substances with all three liquids. We found that different liquids affected different substances. Some results that we found out is that brine (sea monkeys or shrimp) could hatch in all three liquids, salt H2O, sugar H2O, and H2O. Another result is that yeast only lived in sugar H2O. Some organisms appeared non-living because enviroment was not right for the type of living creature.
