 African Giant Snails Invading Miami!! In Miami there is a species of giant snails called African giants that are invading. They are often kept as pets and can grow 25 centimeters long and 10 centimeters wide. They are known as the most damaging species of snails in the world. They also pose a health risk by carrying a parasite that can give you meningitis in humans. That is why its dangerous to have them around invading your home. My opinion is that you should stay away from going outside for a little while. Also you should be careful where you go and where you step.
