Forestry Field Day At Hartley nature center my class and I hiked in the woods, and went to different stations and learned about different things. We saw, smelled, and heard different things. If you would like to know keep reading.

Let’s start with the different kinds of stations we went to. Our first station was one were we learned about different kinds of pines on different types of trees. We each had a group with a different tree. My tree’s pines were so soft u could sleep on them. Another station we went was one when you got to learn, and touch dead animals. I didn’t really want to touch them, because I thought it was really weird. Another one was the sawmill. What we did there was watch a guy saw some wood. When you touch the wood it was very wet. Another station was when we learned about the three different types of dirt. The three different types were sand, silt, and clay.
And our last one was when we learned some stuff about fire. My favorite part was when we got to squirt water out of a hose.

Now let’s talk about things that I saw, smelled, and heard. I saw different things like berries, animals, people, trees, pines, wood, dirt, flowers, moss, garbage, water, rocks, and lot’s more. I heard birds, bees, people, wind, and a sawmill. I smelled dirt, trees, and fresh air.

I had a wonderful time there. I got to be in nature with my class and got to learn new things. That is what me and my class did at Hartley nature center.
