Everglades Hello my name is Kyle. I am going to tell you how the Everglades was created. First, it was the age of seashells. The seashells formed a rock called limestone on the sea bottom. The lake was called Lake Okeechobee. It was round, deep, and it was as clear as window glass. The lake did not splash or chortle. It was a slow lake that gleamed like quicksilver. One-celled animals and plants started to live in the lake. They lived and died and made green soil on the bottom of lake. It made saw grass. The saw grass felt like a trillion swords. Only a alligator could walk though the saw grass without getting poked.
