What Ben Jonson meant Do you know what Ben Jonson meant when he said William Shakespeare was not of an age, but for all time? William was not known just for that time but for all time. William was popular in the 1500’s. William Shakespeare was alive during the age of poetry. People still read William’s plays. People also watch the plays that have been made into movies. William Shakespeare will never be forgotten.
