Now you put the 2 back and have 21. 3 goes into 21 7 times so you put the 7 by the 1, and now you have 17. Now, we will check with multiplication. Put the 17 on top and the 3 on bottom. 7x3=21. 3x1=3. 21+3=24. Now we will finish with addition, 17 3 times. Add up all the 7s. (21). Now add the 3 1s. 21, 22, 23, 24. That is how you get 3x17=24
