Roots and Stems

We are continuing to explore the world of plants and have been learning so much in the process.  We have learned that roots suck up water and nutrients from the ground for the plant to drink and that they help hold the plant down so it doesn't blow away on a windy day.  We learned that stems hold the leaves and flowers up and that they carry water from the roots to the leaves and flowers.  We did a little experiment so that we could see how stems actually work.  We put white flowers into coloured water and have been watching the white flowers turn blue and pink!
