The Korean War The Korean War actually should be the Korean Conflict because we never declared war against the Communist North Koreans when we landed to fight on the Korean Peninsula. Our allies were the South Koreans. There army was not well organized and had already haad been routed many times by the North Koreans. At the start of the war, America was routed several times by Russian T-34 tanks that Russia had given to North Korea. We had very limted anti-armor weapons, so we were forced to wait for reinforcements. After a few years of steady fighting, the front line against North Korea was past their capital, Pyongyang. They retreated so far they were on the border between North Korea and China. The bombers weree forced to bomb very close so as not to land a bomb on China. The Chinese came to the aid of the North Koreans anyway. We were eventually forced back to the tip of the Korean Peninsula. After we moved the Front line back up to the old border between North and South Korea, there was an establishe DMZ[Demilitrazized Zone] theree because of the peace treaty, and those same borders are still there, and always will be unless they join again or one conquers the other.
