 Water Quality How does it affect water quailty? Ammonia affects water when it reaches 0.06 mg/L fish can suffer from gill damage, when it reaches 0.2 mg/L sensitive fish like trout and salmon began to die. How is it measured? What are good and bad levels? Ammonia is measured by mg/L. Less than 0.06 mg/L is except able to drink from but still not healthy. Anything higher than 0.06 mg/L can kill fish. How does this parament affect fist, human, and vegetation? For vegetation it is used for fertilizers. For people and pregnant woman it brings your stomach acid back to normal, but for other people it brings the stomach acid up and it is hard to breath. Also there is a disease that you can get from ammonia that is called Hyperammonemia. It can effect your lungs.
