Three December Moments
The build-up to Christmas was hectic in our classroom. Here are three moments from that special time.
Each year, the parents' committee sets up a "Christmas store" in our gym. For sale are new and gently used items that have been contributed by parents and members of the community. The students can purchase these items for 25 cents, 50 cents or $1.00. The purchased items are then wrapped by parent volunteers so that the children can take them home and put them right under their Christmas tree. Here are some happy shoppers:
Our Christmas concert was another highlight for the children. They sang a French song called Bon Homme (snowman).
Mrs. Knee, who teaches the Kinderkids in New Hampshire, kindly sent us a special Advent calendar that had a video or other special activity for each day leading up to Christmas. A few of the children made this video to thank her.
We enjoyed the advent calendar in our classroom too. So glad you liked it. We looked forward to something new each day. Knowing that you were doing the same in your classroom helps us feel connected.
Let's look for more ways that we can connect and learn from each other.

My fifth grade class performed "Santa Claus Rock." It was a song that hadn't been overdone so it was pretty popular at the Christmas sing-along.
Gotta love performances like this...
