HOGs

Yesterday there was a Harley -Davidson motor-bike rally and about 80 bikes came whizzing past our drive-way. It was a sunny day and their paint jobs looked awesome. In the middle of the group there was a Triumph. All of them tooted and waved to all of us. Our family sat on our neigbour's fence with him.  Len is a keen motorbike man, and so are Grandad and my Dad.

If you don't know what a HOG is, it the name for the "Harley -Davidson Owners Group"

I really enjoyed the bikes too Finn. There were some gorgeous colours ... I especially liked a lovely purple one. Most were black which I think is traditional, but I find it a bit gloomy!! Grandad thinks the black is VERY cool though!! I imagine the owners had spent a long time polishing their bikes so they would look so shiny and fabulous. We felt pretty special getting all those toots and waves, didn't we?!

Hello Finn. Uncle Campbell and I enjoyed reading about the Harley bikes going passed your place. Do you remember I took a photo of you by the Harley bike up at the shops ? The man that owned it didn't seem all that pleased !! Uncle Campbell does a charity road run each year to raise money for the Childrens Hospice and there were over 600 bikes going from Carrickfergus Castle to Waterfoot up the Antrim Coast. The police close the road off in stages to allow the bikes through. They raised over £16,000. Get Grandma to help you find it on the map. I love the noise the Harley bikes make. Uncle Campbell's bike is a Honda Pacific Coast 850cc. It is an American bike.
