The Car Crash
The Car Crash
One summer day, my family and I were going to El Rancho. Suddenly, my mum hit the brake pedal and a van went straight into our back light. It shattered. Ronan and Dougal were sitting in the very back. As the van hit us, they jerked forward and hit the seats in front of them. It wasn’t hard enough to be dangerous so they thought it was fun.
We all got out of the car. It was broad daylight and boiling hot. We walked to the shade. My brother, Jack, hadn’t been feeling well. He went very pale. Then, because of the bump, he then threw up on the ground. My mother and father shouted at each other after the crash. I don’t know why, because it didn’t make any difference. The way the van was driving we couldn’t avoid the accident. I began to wonder if we would ever get back home! I’ve had lots of unpleasant experiences, but this one was still scary.
We waited for ages until the insurance company finally came. They took pictures. We had only braked because there was another car in front of us. Well, at least it wasn’t our fault. Anyway, why didn’t the van driver pay attention to the brake lights? Blame him!
After the insurance man left, we got back into the car and drove off. I was relieved!

I think the thing I liked most about your personal narrative was the great detail you put into it. I was able to really picture exactly what happened because you led me through it so well. It reminded me of an accident I had once, too.

I think the sound of a car smashing into another, making that shattering plastic sound, is awful. I was in a car crash when I was about 11 years old. I still remember the sights, sounds, and fear of that day.
Glad none of you were hurt!
