 South Africa Day in Room 2 We greeted each other is Afrikaans and painted stips in traditional Ndebele Colours and shapes. We danced to the 'Waka waka' song, the official song of the Fifa World cup. We played soccer with our Zakumi ball and built our 'African Big 5 Wild self' on buildyourselfwild.com. For lunch we all took the role of Master Chef and made Babotie,a traditional South African mince meal. It was yummmmmmmy! At the end of the day it was time to say goodbye to Zakumi. We tied a an orange tiki around his neck to wear and put stickers in his Siver fern bag for the children and a key ring for the teacher, Mrs Matthews. It is sad saying goodbye to a friend but we know that he will be looking forward to going home. What a fabulous way to learn about another culture and country. Lekker Tyd! Very Good!

I am really loving it in Australia and my new school is really cool.My school is called High Gate Primary School and we have to wear a Yellow and gold uniform.My teachers name is Miss Ward and Mrs Costello and they are both very nice teachers like Mrs King.It is very very hot over here and it hardly rains so we have to be careful with how much water we use.I am in a play on Thursday and we also have book character day this week as well so we are very busy.I have made lots of new friends and my best friend is from Africa her name is Ashlenn.We have a lot of diffrent cultures at our school and they are Africa,Vietnam,Kenya,Uganda,Italy,Bulgaria,Pakistan and Australia.There are some children who cannot speak english so they have to go to special classes to learn english.When I first started school everyone said I spoke funny but they are used to it now.I miss you all very much and I hope you are well and behaving for Mrs King and Whaea Sheena.I have to go to bed now so take care and I will write again soon.
