The book I read was called the empty pot. This book takes place in China in the 1600's. The main characters were Ping,and the Emperor. The main problem was Pings seed would not grow. The first main event was Ping loved flowers and so did the rest of the village. They liked them so much that the village smelled like perfume. But the Emperor loved them the most and he liked animals too. But he was getting old. The second main event was that the Emperor called all the children to his place. Then he gave them seeds then told them who ever had the prettiest flower will get to be the new Emperor. The third main event was pings seed wouldn't grow. He waited one whole year but still nothing. All of the kids were running to the Emperor with beautiful flowers. Ping was wandering why his seed didn't grow. His dad told him to show the Emperor that he tried his best with the empty truth. So ping did. When Ping got there the Emperor asked him why his pot was empty. Ping said he tried but nothing happened. So the Emperor told every body their seed was cooked. So Ping told the truth and he gets to be the next Emperor.
