The Cay Review The Cay was was a very good book with a lot of action and desperation. It taught a very important lesson that you can have your opinion of something, just don’t be prejudiced to it. The things that made the story so good are the characters and climaxes.
The characters that made the story seem so good are Timothy, Phillip, Phillip’s father, and Grace, Phillip’s mother.
I thought Timothy was an important character in The Cay. Timothy was important in The Cay because he taught Phillip how to fish, how to get coconuts, and how to find his way around the island, even while blind. Timothy was also being very welcoming to Phillip, but Phillip was acting like Timothy was the rudest person he had ever met. Timothy also saved Phillip’s life twice! That is why Timothy was important in this story.
If Grace wasn’t in the book, the book would not be nearly as interesting. I think Grace was very important in this book because if Grace wasn’t in the book, or if she wasn’t prejudiced to blacks, Phillip wouldn’t be prejudiced to blacks, and the story wouldn’t be nearly as good. Phillip wouldn’t have hated Timothy, he wouldn’t have argued with him, and he wouldn’t have been so rude to him. That is why I think Grace is important in this story.
Phillip’s father was very important in this story also. He was important because he was the reason the Enright family was in Curacao because of his job at a refinery, and because he was Phillip’s dad. Without a father for Phillip, Phillip wouldn’t be the main character. That’s why I think Phillip’s father was important in this story.
Phillip was a boy who lived in Curacao with his mother and father. He was super important in The Cay. He is important in this book because he is one of the main characters. Without Phillip, there would be no story because he is the main character, he is in most of the conflicts, and because he is the character that changes the most in the story. This is why Phillip is so important in the story.
The best climax was the big squall that hit the tiny cay. It was the best climax of the book because it had the characters struggling, it caused the death of Timothy, and it forced Phillip to have to live on his own. That is why I think is the big storm was the best climax of the book.
The Cay was one of the best books I’ve ever read. I really recommend reading this book. The Cay was a book full of action, adventure, desperation, and survival. I hope after you have read this review, you will want to read The Cay.
