Romans in Scotland Hey! My name is Anton Xaer and I am part of the Roman cavalry. We just invaded and took a Celtic village! There are so many divers things here. The buildings are different, the things inside them are different, the people who lived here are different. Now, I am going to tell you just how these things differ from home sweet home!

In Caledonia the people live in 2 story huts, the animals were on the bottom and the people on top. The roof is made of thatch ( It is a better material then you would think) and the walls of timber and/or stone. That is much different than are rectangular one-story barracks. We have wood roofs and wood walls. In the village there is a workshop where they kept and made all of their tools. So do we! Another large thing different is are cloths/armor. You can see the Celts coming from a kilometer away. They wear bright colored clothing, even in the battle field! While we are wearing metal armor that protects us, they are wearing this bright clothes and not much armor if any! They wear these thick metal necklace things called torcs all the time, even in their graves! I think there kinda cool looking though.

Theses people are primitive compared to us. We have stone and this new thing call concrete and aqueducts and other stuff. They don't really have much of that and some none at all. But we are not perfect. We are constantly fighting other people and lately ourselves. These people have more peaceful lives (until we came).

We are a well trained, well equipped large, professional army and we win battle after battle against them but we can never can fully conquer them. Not that I really mind. I would much rather be back home eating better food and out of this cold, misty place. I think that with Hadrian's Wall up we will be just fine and can go home. Its not like the Celts are a threat to the empire or anything. Well, I should probably get some shut eye now because we are marching tommorow. Again. Night!
