Mix Media Collage Artist Statement
The theme of my collage was some of the elements of art which are shape, line, and color also outside natural things and outside man made things. My audience saw that my collage was like an illusion because of how I position the shapes and lines that I painted on top of the collage. To make a collage you need a canvass, some magazines, glue, paint, brush, and a piece of paper. First you cut the pictures you want for your collage out of your magazine. Second you take the glue and glue the picture you want to the spot you want and repeat this till you have covered the whole space. Make sure you put a layer of glue on top of the magazine cut outs when you paste them on. Third you cut out a design you like and paint gesso over the place where the paper isn’t and let it dry. Fourth you use paint to paint on the dried gesso and then you’re done. I got the inspiration of outside because I just love going outside playing with friends and camping.
