1) Homo erectus was the first hominid to tame fire.
2) Homo habilis was the first hominid to use stone tools.
3) Homo sapiens started sewing.
4) Australopithecus was about four feet high.
5) Homo erectus had a better communication system then the other hominids.
6) The Neanderthals had hair all over their body to keep their body warm.
7) The Neanderthals were found in Neander Valley in Germany.
8) Archeologists are scientists who study artifacts left behind ancient people and hominids.
9) Paleoanthropologists study fossils of hominids.
10) Neanderthals had big flat noses and big nostrils to suck up warm air to heat their bodies.
11) Neanderthals also had burial ceremonies.
12) Australopithecus was the first creature to walk upright but not properly.
13) Homo erectus walked upright properly.
