Thanksgiving We had a field trip to a colonial museum. We learned about the history of Thanksgiving. I learned that various countries have different holidays to celebrate the harvest season. Although many people believe that Thanksgiving originated with the Pilgrims, Thanksgiving was celebrated in Europe previously. When Thanksgiving was first celebrated it was a day of praise where people would spend most of their time at church, and would either fast or eat limited amounts. Over time this tradition has changed tremendously.
